Automotive Hall of Fame Announces New Chairman

Ramzi Hermiz to replace the retiring Michael Martini as

Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Automotive Hall of Fame

DEARBORN, MI., August 17, 2017 – The Automotive Hall of Fame has announced a new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Ramzi Hermiz will officially replace the retiring Michael Martini as the Chairman of the Board.

Martini, who is also retiring as President of Bridgestone’s OE Division, has served as Chairman since 2012 after joining the Board of Directors in 2006.

“We owe an immense thank-you to Mike Martini for his service as Chairman of our Board”, said Bill Chapin, President of the Automotive Hall of Fame. “Mike’s job description may have been Chairman of the Automotive Hall of Fame, but we really consider him to be our ‘Leader amongst leaders’. Over the years, Mike has helped us honor some of the greatest names in the international automobile industry, including Alan Mulally, Bob Lutz, Luca Di Montezemolo, Rattan Tata, and numerous others.”

Martini’s successor, Ramzi Hermiz, has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2008. He will become the 26th Chairman of the Automotive Hall of Fame.

“I am honored to be named the new Chairman at a time when I believe we are entering a new phase for the Automotive Hall of Fame,” Hermiz said at the 2017 Automotive Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Cobo Center. “It is an important time as we consider relocating the Automotive Hall of Fame to downtown Detroit.”

Ramzi serves as president and CEO of Shiloh Industries, a global innovative solutions provider to the automotive and commercial vehicle industries.

Since joining Shiloh in 2012, Hermiz has transformed the regional automotive supplier into a $1.1B global company with a strategic focus on designing, engineering, and manufacturing lightweight technologies that improve performance, reduce noise, and benefit the environment.

Hermiz, an auto industry veteran, spent 22 years at Federal-Mogul Corporation prior to joining Shiloh.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University, and an MBA in international business from DePaul University. Hermiz also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and as Board Vice Chairman for the Original Equipment Suppliers Association.
